London, Ontario (CSG) -- Hyaluronex's proprietary hyaluronan formulation helps maintain healthy joints. That is the conclusion of a pilot study recently concluded here recently at the University of Western Ontario.

In the case of osteoarthritis, joint health can be assessed objectively by a histopathological grading and staging scale. The Osteoarthritis Research Society International Working Group has established an assessment system with metrics reflecting both the depth of the progression of osteoarthritis into articular cartilage and the extent of the surface of the cartilage that is involved.*

The effect of Hyaluronex's proprietary hyaluronan formulation in a preclinical study was dramatic, preventing the progression of osteoarthritis into articular cartilage and preserving the surface of the cartilage as well.
